In April 2022, I stepped away from my long-time role as Vice President of Operations at Sister Pie, a James Beard nominated bakery in Detroit’s West Village with a triple-bottom-line mission focused on people, planet and profit. It is hard to distill almost 9 years of growing Sister Pie in my often one-woman, behind-the-scenes department under the owner, but I've highlighted a few moments and projects here.

Outside of handling the day-to-day operations of the bakery, my creative responsibilities included designing print materials like menus, stickers, and packaging, as well as creating content for email newsletters and social media. One of my biggest projects was designing and maintaining the retail website. With the help of developers at Wix, we were able to collaborate on an automated "shut down" process that catered to the unique needs of bakery-specific POS and inventory systems at Sister Pie. Wix even included the site on their list of websites "powered by inspiring women" during the Women's History Month after its launch.

I developed training and management SOPs, spearheaded our wedding and wholesale programs, and led our savory menu with thoughtful and seasonally-inspired local produce - earning the name "Savory Angela" with each hand pie flavor and salad.
